Funny Videos

Ethan put on a good show today after he woke up from his nap. I just had to post these videos of what Ethan was up to today.

Ethan has watched me cut paper a lot in the past with my paper cutter and figured out that he could do it too...well sort of.

Today Ethan found my shoes and put them on and started walking around the house. It was so cute...good thing they weren't high heels. He would never live that one down.

First Time Gardeners

Jared and I have started our first garden as a married couple. We have a tiny back yard so our garden is very minimal but we are so excited to have a garden of our very own. Jared and my Dad (who was in town this weekend) planted roma tomatoes, cherry tomatoes (we bought these as small plants instead of seed) corn, green onions, onions, okra, zucchini, yellow squash, and cantaloupe on Saturday. Time will tell how green our thumbs are. Here are some pictures of our little garden. Not too exciting...just dirt for now but hopefully we will see some green soon.

Another Ethan Update

Ethan is always changing and growing. I feel that I can't keep up blogging about all the new things he is up to but here are a few new things he is doing.

First, Ethan is going on 16 months and is getting into everything more than ever. He is also talking a lot more. Some of his recent words include light, cookie, melmo for Elmo, goger for yogurt, flower, tee for tree, din for drink and many more. I have tried to keep track of the words he says and he is saying about 30 words now. It is amazing how fast he picks up new words too. He loves to say "hi" and when he is hungry he will say cracker or nana for banana even if he doesn't want a cracker or a banana. I guess he is just trying to communicate that he is hungry so he uses all the food words he knows.

Ethan is also getting more proficient in feeding himself. However, if I leave him unattended while he is trying to feed himself the picture below shows what happens.

Ethan loves to take things in and out of containers and he likes stacking and sorting everything.

He is also great at coloring and decided that, upon finding a permanent marker, it would be fun to color the floor. It could be way worse. Lesson learned, I need to do a better job of hiding any and all markers.

Ethan also loves playing with the computer. If I leave the mouse close enough to the edge of our computer desk he will start clicking around. He has changed settings and closed windows. Luckily he hasn't deleted anything on accident but I always have to remember to put the mouse out of reach or he will find it. Obviously sometimes I forget.

We sure love having Ethan in our home. He is so sweet and brings more joy than I could ever have imagined. I can't believe how time flys. I thank the Lord every day that get to be his mom.
