Visitors!

Janae and Jacob (Jared's brother and sister) came to visit us from California last weekend and we had a blast!!! As you can see from our cozy picture below.

Janae, Jacob and Jared have this amazing talent of being able to write great music. Janae and Jared both play the guitar. I am...well...I will just say not so musically inclined but it was so fun to watch Janae, Jacob and Jared make up songs and play guitar the whole weekend. Everyone helped me start writing my first song ever. I love being around such talent! I always tell Jared that our kids might have a chance at being musically inclined because I married into his ultra-talented family!

One of the highlights of the trip was out trip to the temple. Jacob is going on a mission in March so Jared had the wonderful privilege to be Jacob's escort when he went through the temple for the first time. It was a very neat experience to all be together in the temple!

We also went bowling, went to the movies, played Settlers (the best board game in the world) and we got to go to church together too. We also went miniature golfing and shopping at the mall or should I say shopping at Old Navy.(They have the best clearance racks ever! I got 2 shirts for $4!)

Another part of the trip that was funny was on Sunday. Jared and I bought the makings for a delicious pot roast to be cooked in the crock pot. We wanted to all eat dinner together that night but we couldn't all eat until around 9:30pm. So we put the roast together around 7:00 and started cooking it in the crock pot. Soon it was 9:30 and we were all very excited to eat this delicious meal. Someone checked to see if it was done and it wasn't. Then around 10:00 we checked again...it still wasn't done. To make a long story short the roast wasn't done until 12:30 or 1:00 am!!! So we had the long awaited dinner on Monday morning. It was pretty funny! Needless to say I was pretty tired on Monday. But I would have to say that when all was said and done that delicious roast was worth the wait! We were playing Settlers (the best board game the world) while waiting for the roast to cook so it was an excellent excuse to stay up past midnight to play my favorite game ever!

On Monday we went mini golfing and Jared won...that is the crazy picture below where Jacob, Janae and I look like captives. I also had to put in the picture of Janae being a giant. It was a fun round of golf...except that I didn't win(sniffle sniffle).

Sadly as all great weekends do...the weekend came and went. Jacob and Janae left Phoenix on Tuesday morning. I miss them! It was so fun and I can't wait to see Jared's family again.
