Sea World!!

Jared and I went to Sea World for our two year anniversary! I can't believe we have been married that long...but at the same time it seems like we have been married much longer (and I mean that in a good way). Jared got the brilliant idea that we should take a road trip down to San Diego since we are only five hours away. Can I just say that his idea was truly inspired! It was such a fun trip. The trip started out with a wake up time of 4:00 am on Friday. We drove down to San Diego and got to Sea World about 10:00. It was a beautiful drive. Living in Arizona has made me realize that trees are very pretty...and so is grass. I really like green and going to San Diego made me realize how much of a desert I live in.

Below is a picture of the Sea World Star Shamu!

These are the awesome glasses we got to wear for the 3D Muppet Movie...Jared looks so hot!

This is a picture of Jared holding a Star Fish....(I guess you didn't need my caption, it is pretty self explanatory).

I am just going to say it right now...Sea World was so fun! My favorite story of the day is our sunscreen story. When we got into the park Jared said that he forgot the sun screen in the car. We were both way too excited about being in the park. There was no way we were going back for some sunscreen...who needs it anyway. Apparently we did. Jared and I both looked like lobsters by noon. I haven't had such a bad sunburn in years. You would think I would have a tan considering that I live in a place were there is nonstop sunshine. WRONG! The only time I see the sun is when it rises on the way to work and when it sets on the way home. Jared sees the sun just about as much as I do. We could live in Alaska and be more tan then we are here in Arizona. Around 6:00pm I went rumaging through our backpack to find something and guess what? I found the sunscreen. We had been carrying it around all day! I was burnt for no good reason...Oh well! Maybe I won't peel and the bright red will turn into a beautiful brown. Then I can start actually looking like I live in Arizona.

I think my favorite part of the park were the shows. The dolphins, the whales, and the sea lions were amazing. I can't believe they can train sea animals to do so many fun tricks. It was pretty sweet! Jared's favorite part of the whole trip was the caricatures booths. He wanted to stand there all day and watch the artists draw person after person. Forget spending 100 bucks to get into Sea World...we could just go to a fair and Jared would be completely satisfied. He would have stood there all day if I would have let him! Artists!! We got a caricature done of us. It was pretty funny! At least I thought so...you can decide for yourself.

This is the Atlantis ride that I really really wanted to go on but you know the rule...no rides for pregnant ladies. I was a little sad but it's a small sacrifice to make for our little one.

The coolest part about this picture is all the flamingos in the background.

The day went by so fast. It seemed the day was over before it started. We got to our hotel that night and assessed the sun burn damage. It was pretty bad. We slept okay despite the sun burns. The next morning was another favorite part of the trip to me. I woke up and Jared wasn't next to me in bed. I looked over and he was sleeping in the the other queen sized bed. I thought to myself that's weird. Then I noticed a little goldfish cracker by my hand.

I thought "breakfast in bed...how sweet" and I picked it up and ate it. Then I noticed another goldfish...and then another and then another. A little trail of goldfish crackers looped around the bed I was on. Jared had woken up by now and watched me as I followed the trail. When I got to the other side of his bed I saw a few gift bags and a card. He had gotten me some mothers days presents. He bought me some goggles that I really wanted....swimming is my new favorite thing to do now that I am pregnant. I guess swimming has always been my favorite thing but especially now. He also got me a $25 gift card to buy some maternity clothes at Ross. It was so sweet. I didn't feel as if I deserved to be celebrated as a mom but I figure if I can throw up almost every day for three months I guess I can get a mother's day gift.

The rest of Sunday was very relaxed. We saw the San Diego Temple and wished that it wasn't Sunday so that we could do a session. I love that temple. Wet took a couple of pictures and then we continued our drive to Laguna Hills. Jared showed me around the town were he lived as a young teenager. It is a beautiful place! Jared wanted to show me his old house. When we got there we noticed there was a "For Sale" sign in the yard. We were both curious to know what that house costs now days. Jared really wanted to go inside...and sure enough about 20 minuets after we got there a realtor came driving up. We were able to walk around Jared's old house. I had to ask the realtor how much the house was. She told us the house was $599,000. I couldn't believe it! I told Jared that we couldn't afford to live in California for a very very long time. His old house is comparable to a $200,000 home in Idaho and it is an older home. Crazy! We also went to church there. The ward was great. After church we did a little more sight seeing and then we started the long drive home. We got back home around midnight and then we stayed up until 1:00 watching our video from the trip. We had so much fun! Jared and I can't wait to take our little family back to Sea World someday!
