I turned 24 yesterday. UGH! I know, I am not old but I am really starting to feel like I am. Up until my twentieth birthday me and my birthdays had a positive relationship. What happened? Now I am starting to dread birthdays. I actually find myself afraid of getting old. I know it's silly when I am only 24 but if next few years go by as fast as the last few years I will be 50 before I blink. Yes Mom and Dad 50 is old :). But getting old is going to happen no matter how I feel about it so I am trying to accept it.
This year to celebrate Jared took the day off and we spent the morning together as a family riding bikes and playing at a park in Scottsdale. And yes...I am going to finally be brave and post a picture of me, in all my glory, 30 weeks pregnant (at the request of my sister-in-law April).

And now a cute photo...Ethan at the park. Isn't he so BIG!!

After the park we dropped Ethan off with a sitter and Jared took me to Joann's to buy fabric for curtains. I have been DYING to hang curtains ever since we moved into our house but they are so expensive! The curtains was my big birthday present. I will post pictures when they are finished and hung. It could be awhile since I am doing the sewing myself...yikes! Here is a picture of the fabric.
Red Robin was our next stop after Joann's. Jared and I split a free burger. (Sign up for emails from Red Robin and they will send you a coupon for a free gourmet burger on your birthday.) Jared requested the staff at Red Robin sing to me. How embarrassing! Thank goodness it was a Thursday night and the restaurant was fairly empty. The perk? They gave me a free dish of ice cream. I guess I will take a happy birthday song for some free ice cream.
Oh, and my favorite part of the day, a free dozen glazed doughnuts from Krispy Kreme. That's right, flash your ID to prove it's your birthday and walk out with a dozen doughnuts. YUMM! So a big thanks to Jared, Red Robin and Krispy Kreme for making getting older not so bad after all.
