Getting Older--Not So Fun Anymore

I turned 24 yesterday. UGH! I know, I am not old but I am really starting to feel like I am. Up until my twentieth birthday me and my birthdays had a positive relationship. What happened? Now I am starting to dread birthdays. I actually find myself afraid of getting old. I know it's silly when I am only 24 but if next few years go by as fast as the last few years I will be 50 before I blink. Yes Mom and Dad 50 is old :). But getting old is going to happen no matter how I feel about it so I am trying to accept it.

This year to celebrate Jared took the day off and we spent the morning together as a family riding bikes and playing at a park in Scottsdale. And yes...I am going to finally be brave and post a picture of me, in all my glory, 30 weeks pregnant (at the request of my sister-in-law April).

And now a cute photo...Ethan at the park. Isn't he so BIG!!

After the park we dropped Ethan off with a sitter and Jared took me to Joann's to buy fabric for curtains. I have been DYING to hang curtains ever since we moved into our house but they are so expensive! The curtains was my big birthday present. I will post pictures when they are finished and hung. It could be awhile since I am doing the sewing myself...yikes! Here is a picture of the fabric.

Red Robin was our next stop after Joann's. Jared and I split a free burger. (Sign up for emails from Red Robin and they will send you a coupon for a free gourmet burger on your birthday.) Jared requested the staff at Red Robin sing to me. How embarrassing! Thank goodness it was a Thursday night and the restaurant was fairly empty. The perk? They gave me a free dish of ice cream. I guess I will take a happy birthday song for some free ice cream.

Oh, and my favorite part of the day, a free dozen glazed doughnuts from Krispy Kreme. That's right, flash your ID to prove it's your birthday and walk out with a dozen doughnuts. YUMM! So a big thanks to Jared, Red Robin and Krispy Kreme for making getting older not so bad after all.

29 Week Ultrasound

On Thursday of last week, March 18th, I went in for my last ultrasound of the baby before he is born. Everything looks great. The ultrasound tech guessed the baby to be around 3lbs. 2oz. and the due date has continued to be May 28th according to measurements, although my official due date is June 1st. Here is a 3D ultrasound of his face. A little alien looking, I know, but to capture an image of the baby's face with sound waves is truly amazing!

It was such a neat experience to get to see my little guy again before we officially meet.

I am still feeling pretty good but rather on the large side...a typical feeling for being 30 weeks pregnant. I have to keep telling myself that I am not that big yet and I still have 10 more weeks to grow.

I have absolutely started into the "nesting" phase of pregnancy. I already moved Ethan out of his old room so that I can get the nursery set up. Ethan has also been moved out of his crib and into a big boy bed (a post and pictures of that event yet to come). I know...I am jumping the gun but I can't help it. I just have to get ready NOW. Gotta love pregnancy hormones.

Has It Seriously Been a Year and Four Months?

My little boy, my baby, turned a year and four months on Saturday! I can't believe it has been that long since he was born. To celebrate we bought him his first pack of toy cars. He loves them as any little boy should. I took some photos to document his 16 month mark. And to think that in two months I will have an 18 months old! Here he is my....toddler. (Yes he has been a toddler for four months but I am still getting over it.)

Also, another big milestone for our family is that I will be entering the last week of my second trimester tomorrow! I will be 27 weeks along! Three months to go! I am so excited to meet our little boy!!! So I dedicate this blog entry to Ethan, my 16 month old and to our baby boy (who has yet to be named) who is "6 months" tomorrow.
